mexican sun

There is nothing better than to relax under a straw umbrella at the beach in Zihuatanejo MX and sketching your own impressions and experience of the day’s events under the hot Mexican Sun.

The day we explored the newly discovered pyramid and its many stone carved figures at the archeological museum, I ended up drawing my Mexican Sun surrounded by faces. Did you notice that each face has a different look, a unique expression.

At the museum we learned that the faces and figures were created with exaggerated, accentuated features and body parts. Or in some cases some features were missing. This was a way to convey the role, purpose or status of that person, a religious or influential figure.
