shadow dancers

Artists often talk about searching for inspiration, ideas, and creativity. But on the other end of the spectrum are those who are overwhelmed by an endless flood of ideas—so many that there isn’t enough time to process or execute them. This creative overload can become a burden, sometimes leading to burnout, paralysis, or even depression.

For some artists, consistency—sticking to a particular style, theme, or technique—is key to success. But for hyper-creative artists like me, that kind of repetition feels restrictive. I paint to explore, invent, and push boundaries. That’s why I create pieces that don’t fit neatly into a series, category, or style. Each work stands alone—one of a kind, a singular expression.

My “series of one-offs” is born from the need to break free, to channel and release the creative overflow that can weigh me down. These black-and-white dancers came to life as a way to unload and defuse that intensity. Yes, I may be an inconsistent artist with a range of styles and subjects, but I never chase trends or paint for the market. I create purely from instinct, from deep within—and that is what brings me true fulfillment.
